* This Fast is not exactly the same as Daniel’s original fast.  (Daniel 10:1-4)

* This fast will lead to spiritual insight.  “As for these four boys, God gave them knowledge and skill.”  (Daniel 1:17)

* This Fast is longer than one day. These young men fasted for at least ten days.  (Daniel 1:12,15)

* This fast is a partial fast.  Daniel and his friends ate only vegetables and drank only water (Daniel 1:12).  We will allow more to eat than they did for various reasons.

* This application of a Fast requires abstinence from party or junk foods.

The Daniel Fast is not to bring condemnation. Allow the fast to to what it is intended to do. Prayer and Bible reading must be included in the fast for you to accomplish your goal. If you eat something during the fast not on your list, don't quit. Just start at that point fresh and continue on through to the completion of the fast.

There are many sites with recipes available to help you as well as cook books designed with the Daniel Fast in mind.
